Welcome to DeGate October 2022 Ecosystem Update!
DeGate is Limit Orders, Decentralized on Ethereum. DeGate protocol allows you to do spot limit order trading with all the benefits of trading on a DEX. Zero-Knowledge rollups and Efficient Gas Saving Technology make trading on the DeGate DEX protocol high-speed and efficient.
DeGate DEX protocol enables permissionless token listing, which means anyone can list a token by adding the smart contract address. Expect a solid selection of tokens to trade and liquidity mining programmes.
DeGate is built on principles of permissionless, trustlessness and decentralization. DeGate is launching on the Ethereum mainnet first and aligns with the values of Ethereum while remaining chain agnostic.
Product and Tech Update
In October, the tech team continued to work on improving the functionalities of DeGate DEX protocol. Specifically, the team is working on the following:
- A more secure dApp wallet solution to protect the users from hacker attacks
- A solution to ensure that the system is working 24/7 and running without downtime
- Metadata of the page will now show when a link of degate.com is shared in Telegram and Discord
- An internal audit process is being conducted to ensure security on Smart Contract/Circuit/Backend and the overall trading system
When it comes to depositing funds into the DeGate protocol, the research team aims to develop a solution that is user-friendly as well as sufficiently secure. We believe that the waiting time for deposit before funds are available for trading is of significant importance to user experience. We have come up with a few solution candidates that are currently undergoing further studies.
A new release of DeGate DEX protocol is launching in November, which includes Ledger wallet support. Stay tuned on our social media platforms for the latest updates!

Devcon Bogota
DeGate continues building a community around the World, forging partnerships and friendships. October was a special month for the Ethereum community, with the long-awaited Devcon taking place in Bogota, Colombia.
For this occasion, DeGate has introduced something special: Ethereum-themed poker cards featuring carefully selected contributors to the Ethereum ecosystem. Those cards were HOT in Devcon!

DeGate has conducted a successful Twitter contest for #devconpokercards. The community members were asked to guess which prominent Ethereum figures were selected for the cards. The winners received 3000 $DG tokens and a physical copy of the limited edition Ethereum-themed poker cards.

ETH Bogota
In October, DeGate sponsored and participated in the ETH Bogota hackathon, organised by ETH Global and awarded 3 teams for their solutions. For ETH Bogota, DeGate invited teams to build solutions on Ethereum that would contribute to one of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals (UN 17 SDGs). The Ethereum community has strong values and focuses on making the World more inclusive and a better place to live for everyone. DeGate is proud to contribute to public goods and is grateful to all the teams that have made an effort to build the solutions.
Three winners were selected for contributing towards UN 17 SDGs with their solutions:
- Skywood
- Sigcure
- goEV
Skywood uses blockchain technology to monitor and provide public information about deforestation and ecosystem damage. It is a satellite ecosystem monitoring service that uses and processes satellite image technology and utilises Chainlink, IPFS and Polygon.
DeGate awarded Skywood as the best-submitted solution, contributing to United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. UN SDG 15 is to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Skywood team comes from Colombia and saw the problem of deforestation first-hand. The team believes that we can make better decisions with better information about what is happening to the forests and the ecosystem. In essence, Skywood tech captures a satellite image as NFT and enables comparison between various data points.

The DAOist Bogota
DeGate DAO has been a supporter of the DAO ecosystem and the DAOist organisation since its nascence. The DAOist connects the DAOs and is a ‘Cultural vehicle for collaborative defiance’. At the DAOist Bogota, DeGate evangelist Alvin Lee gave a talk entitled ‘The First Billion- Wen Mass Adoption in Crypto?’

DeGate is building its community around the World and is paying strong attention to the South East Asia market. DeGate appreciates its friends and partners in Korea, one of the largest crypto markets and participated in the event together with Coinness, Bitkeep Wallet, Alphanonce and Foresight Ventures during Busan Blockchain Week.
